Larry Shoaf is a native of Belleville, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Wichita State University (B.A., magna cum laude, 1970) and his legal education at the University of Texas (J.D., 1972). He is licensed to practice in the courts of the State of Kansas, the United States District Court for the District of Kansas, the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Shoaf has extensive experience in the defense of physicians, hospitals and dentists in medical malpractice litigation, Professional Liability in real estate actions, workers’ compensation, as well as other types of litigation for Personal Injury defense, including wrongful death claims. He has lectured at the university level and at seminars in the fields of medical negligence, physician-patient privilege, Civil Litigation, workers’ compensation, and risk management.
Mr. Shoaf is the author of “Evidence and Proof” in the Kansas Workers’ Compensation Practice Manual, Second and Third Editions, is co-editor of the entire manual since 1990, and is contributing author to the Kansas Bar Association Annual Law Survey, all sixteen editions. Mr. Shoaf is a member of the Wichita Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association and American Bar Association.
