Dallas L. Rakestraw is a native of Wichita, Kansas. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas majoring in Political Science and English (B.A., 2003). He obtained his legal education at the University of Kansas School of Law (J.D., 2006).
Mr. Rakestraw was active in student government. He served on various student-faculty committees, including the North Central Accreditation Committee, whose report led to the University of Kansas’ continued accreditation. While in law school, he served on the school’s Admission Committee. Additionally, Mr. Rakestraw was active in Delta Upsilon social fraternity.
Mr. Rakestraw received the CALI Excellence Award for top grade in Advanced Bankruptcy: Business Reorganizations.
Mr. Rakestraw practices in the areas of workers’ compensation, bankruptcy law, and creditor's rights. He is licensed to practice in the courts of the State of Kansas, the United States District Court for the District of Kansas and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas. Mr. Rakestraw is a member of the Wichita Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association and the Wichita Young Lawyers Association.
